Земля Палає / The Earth Is Burning is a collective publication exploring ecocide in Ukraine caused by Russia’s war, bringing together artists, researchers and writers examining the destruction of ecosystems, memory, culture and everyday life.
Edited and curated by art and ecology researcher Liza Goncharenko, the publication brings together contributions by Karolina Uskakovych, Yuliia Kishchuk, Marynka Dovhanych, Paris Bezanis, Seila Fernández Arconada and Liliya Chavaga.
Through essays, visual projects, field observations, and artistic research, the contributors Karolina Uskakovych, Yuliia Kishchuk, Marynka Dovhanych, Paris Bezanis, Seila Fernández Arconada and Liliya Chavaga reveal how invasion transforms rivers, forests, agricultural land, wetlands, cemeteries, and sites of collective memory.
This publication was made possible through the generous support of Track Report at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and the Research Unit at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
