Behind Blue Eyes is a charitable art project where kids document their daily lives in the liberated and frontline villages of Ukraine on film and eventually get their little dreams fulfilled in exchange for this unique body of work.
The idea was developed by a team of volunteers taking care of liberated areas in Chernihiv region, Ukraine. During their numerous trips to the Lukashivka village, locals and particularly kids became true friends for the volunteers. Children's behaviour surprised them the most - despite being exposed to the horrors of war, kids still were able to lead their regular life and radiate that sort of light that adults were seemingly lacking at these trying times. The original vision was to somehow capture the emotion these kids were bringing and physically transfer it to those who might desperately need it around the country.
As of today, volunteers travel across the newly liberated areas of Kherson and Kharkiv, as well as the frontline villages of Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk - helping kids to cope with a war trauma.
